The first Madhesh Province Convention of ruling Nepali Congress has started at Janakpurdham in Dhanusha district.
Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the Convention that kicked off at Tirhutiya Gachhi in the district. Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretary Gagan Thapa have reached Janakpur to participate in the program.
The closed session of the convention will start from Friday. The leaders and cadres from all eight districts have participated in the inaugural ceremony.
As many as 825 representatives from eight districts are expected to participate in the closed session of convention and express their views on political, organizational and financial reports, the Congress has said.
