A 24-year-old Czech student shot dead his father, then killed 14 people at his Prague University on Thursday before possibly killing himself, international media outlets said.
Authorities said 25 others sustained injuries in the country's worst-ever mass shooting in history.
The government declared a day of mourning across the central European country for December 23 to remember the victims.
A special cabinet meeting called by President Petr Pavel took a decision to this effect.
The gunman, who police said was a student of the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, has not been formally identified because of the severity of his injuries, the CNN reported.
Authorities are still investigating a motive in the rampage, which took place at the Faculty of Arts building of Charles University, in the center of the capital city, authorities said.
