Empower provinces at the earliest: Socialist Front

The Socialist Front has urged the government to enact laws necessary to empower the provincial governments as part of implementation of the federalism, at the earliest.

“A meeting of the Socialist Front held in Singha Durbar on Wednesday morning urged Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to empower the provincial governments even through ordinances,” said Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) leader Rajendra Shrestha. 

CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary Ghana Shyam Bhusal, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav, Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung, Deputy General Secretary Giriraj Mani Pokharel among others were present in the meeting that started at 9 am.

Ruling parties Maoist Center, JSP, Unified Socialist and NCP, which is out of the government, are in the Socialist Front.
