The final hearing on rape case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is taking place today.
The hearing was scheduled for today as it did not conclude at the District Court Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The hearing which began on December 25 at the bench of Justice Shishir Raj Dhakal was rescheduled for Wednesday after the Court remained closed due to a public holiday on Monday and Tuesday.
The pleading on behalf of the victim concluded yesterday. Today senior advocates Raman Shrestha, Shambhu Thapa, Kishor Sapkota, and advocates including Saroj Krishna are presenting their arguments on behalf of cricketer Lamichhane today.
Earlier, District Court Kathmandu had sent Sandeep to custody for investigation, while the High Court Patan had ordered his release at the bail of two million rupees.
Once the pleading is over, District Court Kathmandu will issue its final verdict.
