Ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to form an alliance in the elections of the National Assembly to be held on January 25.

A meeting of the Central Working Committee (CWC) of the NC that concluded at the central party office in Sanepa on Saturday took a decision to this effect, Publicity Department Chief Min Bishwa Karma said.

Speaking at a press conference organized at the party office on Sunday, Bishwakarma said the NC will now hold discussions with parties of the alliance on the issue of candidatures.

“The CWC meeting has decided to contest the National Assembly elections keeping the alliance intact,” Bishwakarma said, “We will now hold discussions on issues of candidatures with coalition parties and come up with common candidates.”

The meeting has decided to pick candidates among those who have clean image, qualified and but deprived of opportunities for a long time.

“We will pick candidates among those who are efficient, qualified, but deprived of opportunities for a long time,” said Bishwakarma.
