An airbus of Japan Airlines Co. has caught fire at Tokyo's Haneda airport, Kyodo News reported.
The fire may have been caused by a collision between the plane and a Japan Coast Guard aircraft, the Tokyo fire department said.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan said it is probing the case.
The fire apparently started on the aircraft just as it landed. Haneda Airport has blocked the runway. It is reported that 379 passengers and crew escaped and were safe, according to The Japan News.
According to TV and other images, the plane caught fire from the rear of the fuselage almost as soon as it landed. Efforts are underway to extinguish the fire.
