A meeting of the ruling parties scheduled for this evening would draw conclusions regarding the allocation of seats for its member parties in the National Assembly elections.

Discussion was held among top leaders of the ruling alliance at the official residence of the Prime Minister, Baluwatar this afternoon, thereby agreeing to reach a conclusion in the next meeting taking place later evening, said NC leader Ramesh Lekhak.

He however said a meeting of four major political parties would be held at 4:00 pm preceding the meeting of the alliance member parties scheduled for 5:00 pm.

Discussion was also held on the issue of coordinating with the main opposition party, CPN (UML), shared leader Lekhak.

The CPN (UML) has announced to file candidacies in all vacant posts in the NA elections. After the UML's announcement, an agreement was reached among the alliance parties to go for NA election, allocating seats among the alliance parties, he explained.

"Although discussion was held to take together the opposition parties in NA Assembly as a broader democratic practice, it was not possible for the time being", he said.

Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair, Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN (Unified Socialist) Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, as well as other top leaders were present in the meeting.

The NA election is taking place on January 25.
