Sudurpaschim Province made a flying start by defeating Lumbini Province in a match of the Prime Minister Cup One Day National Cricket tournament on Monday.
With the brilliant performance of all-rounder Narayan Joshi, Sudurpaschim managed to route Lumbini in the cricket match by five wickets.
With the win, Sudurpaschim climbed to the third position on the points table.
Chasing the 159-run target set by Lumbini, Sudurpaschim bowled the opponent out in 29.3 overs by losing five wickets.
Sudurpaschim’s Sher Malla topped the score with 42 runs followed by Narayan Joshi with 28 runs while opener Khadka Bohara made 21 runs.
In reply, Lumbini’s Abhishek Gautam claimed three wickets while Krishna Karki and Ajaya Chauhan grabbed one wicket each.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss at Siddharthanagar Cricket Stadium in Bhairahawa, Lumbini notched up 158 runs in 48.4 overs, losing all wickets.
Prajwal Thapa made the highest 42 runs while Mohammad Husain added 26 runs for Lumbini.
On the bowling side, Narayan Joshi claimed the highest three wickets. Similarly, Naren Saud and Bhoj Raj Bhatta grabbed two wickets each.
