The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) claims that it has strategically formed an alliance with the CPN (UML) to ‘defeat Krishna Prasad Sitaula’ in the National Assembly elections being held on January 25.
The ruling alliance has fielded Nepali Congress leader Sitaula in Koshi Province. The UML and RPP on Monday formed an electoral alliance for two seats representing Koshi Province.
The two parties have agreed to cast votes for RPP candidate Uddav Paudel who is contesting elections for a member of the National Assembly under other category and Rukmini Koirala (UML) under Women Category.
Against this backdrop, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is heading to Biratnagar today. Likewise, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden is also reportedly flying to the capital of Koshi Province.
Sources claim that the UML and the RPP are making an strategic move to defeat Sitaula in Koshi Province.
“It is detrimental to the democratic system to elect the candidate rejected by the people through elections before the expiry of the current term of the House of Representatives. We have formed an electoral alliance with UML to defeat Sitaula,” said RPP Spokesperson Mohan Shrestha.
