Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), Balendra Shah, is not going to cast his vote in the National Assembly elections today.

Mayor Balendra will abstain from casting vote in the National Assembly elections due to his busy schedule, his personal aide Bhupdev Shah said.

“Mayor Balendra will not cast his vote due to his busy schedule,” he said.

Balen abstained from voting even in the federal elections held on November 20, 2022.

Elections are being held in all seven provincial assemblies to elect 19 members of the National Assembly. The 19 seats in the Upper House of the Federal Parliament are falling vacant on March 3.

Voting is underway for four seats at Hetauda in Bagmati Province under the National Assembly elections.

Mayor Balendra Shah is the voter from Bagmati Province.

Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol has reached Hetauda to take part in the elections.
