The voting held under the National Assembly elections in Karnali Province has been completed.
According to election officer Ujwal Rawal, 156 representatives from 79 local units and 40 province lawmakers cast their votes. The vote-count will start from 3 pm, he said.
Six candidates are vying for three seats of National Assembly from Karnali Province.
The ruling alliance has fielded Krishna Bahadur Rokaya of Nepali Congress, Bishnu BK of CPN (Maoist Center) and Sabitri Malla from CPN (Unified Socialist).
Similarly, main opposition CPN (UML) has fielded Bimala Kumari Shahi, Dilli Prasad Bhatta and Hikmat BK as the candidates in the elections to the National Assembly.
The ruling alliance’s voting weightage is three times larger than that of the UML. The vote weightage of the ruling alliance is 3,779 while that of the UML is 1,195.
