UML’s Rukmini Koirala elected NA member from Koshi

CPN (UML)'s Rukmini Koirala has won the election as a member of the National Assembly from Koshi Province.

Koirala was elected as a member of the National Assembly by defeating the ruling coalition candidate Champadevi Karki from CPN (Maoist Center).

Koirala got 5,086 votes. Her competitor Champadevi Karki got 4,992 votes.

UML candidate Koirala was supported by Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

UML's National Assembly candidate Koirala was voted by three lawmakers of the ruling coalition in Koshi Province.

Forty-nine MPs voted for Koirala in the counting of votes. In Kohsi, UML and RPP formed an alliance. There were 46 MPs in the Koshi Province Assembly, including 40 from UML and 6 from RPP.

Koirala received the votes from three MPs outside the UML-RPP alliance.

49 people voted in favor of Koirala. Champadevi Karki, candidate of the ruling coalition, got 44 MPs. There are 47 MPs from the ruling coalition in Koshi.
