CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun has said that the party has to seriously review the alliance with the ruling Nepali Congress.

Reacting to the Maoist Center's defeat in the National Assembly elections in Koshi Province, leader Pun said so during a party cadres' orientation organized in his home district Rolpa.

"We have reached the point where we have to seriously review the alliance with the Congress. We voted for the Congress honestly in every election, but we are being cheated by it time and again," said Pun.

National politics has taken a new turn with the results of the National Assembly elections in Koshi Province.

Pun recalled that two years ago, the Congress was found dishonest by not voting for the Janata Samajbadi Party candidate in the National Assembly in Koshi. Pun also said that the Congress has betrayed them by making Kedar Karki the Chief Minister of Koshi in an alliance with the UML against the agreement reached at the top leadership level.

Meanwhile, Pun also demanded the Congress leadership review the anarchy and apolitical tendencies within them. He also said that there would be a discussion about the betrayal by the Congress in Koshi in the meeting of the ruling alliance.

In the National Assembly elections held on Thursday, the ruling coalition fielded former Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Maoist Center's Champadevi Karki as candidates. Although Sitaula won, Karki lost to UML's Rukmini Koirala.
