The Ruling Nepali Congress is set to launch a ‘Nepali Congress in Community’ campaign from Tuesday (January 30).

The Nepali Congress is launching a 10-day campaign following the footsteps of CPN (UML) which carried out Jhulaghat-Chiwabhanjyang Resolution March for Prosperity and that of CPN (Maoist Center) that launched the Transformation campaign, recently.

This ‘Nepali Congress in Community’ campaign will be launched in all 6,743 wards simultaneously, said Min Bishwakarma, the chief of Publicity Department of Nepali Congress.

“There will be no stage programs, nor formal speeches. We will listen to the grievances and woes raised by over 25 different groups including farmers, mothers, youths, businessmen, teachers, professors, lawyers, civil servants, children and guardians.”

During the campaign, the team will take the feedback from the locals about the party representatives.  “We will hold informal talks with the grassroots, listen to their grievances and find out the solution to their problems.”

Even though this program was set to be launched in October, the party has started it lately, he said. The leaders and cadres of the Congress have already set out for the campaign in the district and ward levels.

“This campaign will run for 10 days. The leaders will be deputed as per the work-plan,” said Bishwakarma.

However, Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has already launched a separate campaign. Reacting to his campaign, Bishwakarma said, “Thapa’s campaign is his personal which is not recognized by the party,” said Bishwakarma.
