ICC U-19 Super Six: Nepal taking on Bangladesh today

Nepal is taking on Bangladesh in a Super Six match under the ICC U-19 World Cup underway in South Africa today.

With wins secured by India and Pakistan in the Super Six matches held on Tuesday, Nepal is already out of the journey to the Semifinals. This game is just a prestige match for Nepal.

The first match of the Super Six between Nepal and Bangladesh will be held at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, South Africa at 2 pm. 

Placed in 'Group D', Nepal booked berth in the Super Six by defeating Afghanistan by one wicket in the last group stage match. Nepal is without points.

Bangladesh has two points. Bangladesh entered the Super Six by becoming the runner-up of 'Group A'. It scored two points by defeating Ireland which qualified for the Super Six. It defeated Ireland by six wickets in the group-stage match.

Similarly, Bangladesh defeated America by a wide margin of 121 runs.

Likewise, Nepal is scheduled to play with India, the winner of 'Group A', in the second match of Super Six on Friday.

Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Ireland are in Group A of the Super Six. Australia, Sri Lanka, West Indies, South Africa, England and Zimbabwe are in Group B.

This is the third time, Nepal and Bangladesh are facing each other in the ICC U-19 World Cup.

Earlier, Nepal lost to Bangladesh by six wickets in the quarterfinal held in Bangladesh in 2016.

Prior to this, Nepal had defeated Bangladesh by 23 runs in the World Cup held in 2002.
