Two Nepali nationals killed in Scotland fire

Two Nepali nationals died in the fire that broke out in a building at Hilton Road in Scotland.

The deceased are 28-year-old Aanchal Subedi and Shiksha Subedi, 24, of Pokhara, Kaski, who were staying at Hilton Road in Scotland, said NRNA, UK President Prem Gaha Magar.

They are the ddaughters of Dr Yagya Prasad Subedi, the former Professor of Pokhara University. Of the killed, Aanchal was an engineer while younger singer Shiksha was an IT student.

According to Dr Shiva Tiwari, the president of the Nepalese Himalayan Association, Scotland, they died of suffocation in a smoke-filled building while climbing downstairs last Monday evening.

The funeral rites for the deceased will be performed on coming Tuesday.

The Subedi family had been staying in Edinburgh for almost two decades.
