The Nepali Congress (NC) carried out an interaction program as part of the ‘Nepali Congress in Community’ campaign at Suryabinayak Municipality-5 in Bhaktapur district on Monday.

Launched with an objective of collecting feedback on the performance of the party representatives, most of the locals who attended the program raised the issues of irregularities, corruption, inflation, slackness in development works, lack of employment opportunities, brain-drain among others.

Participating in the interaction, Purna Bhadur Taja, a resident of Taja Tole, criticized the government and the party leadership saying that they merely pay lip service to the people but do not take the initiative to solve the people's problems as such.

"They cannot afford to be indifferent to the public concerns and problems of the citizens," said Taja urging the party representatives to convey these voices to the central leadership and the government."

Speaking at the program, Rameshwar Dhwaju, the district representative, said the Congress has been organizing ‘Nepali Congress in Community’ campaign to collect feedback from the general public since January 30.

“We have come here to listen to your grievances, complaints, and suggestions. Your feedback on the party representatives and performance of the government will be submitted to the Mahasamiti meeting to be held in March,” said Dhwaju.

Similarly, locals of Tribeni Tole including Uttam Giri, Madhav Gautam expressed their grievances saying that party representatives did not take the initiative in the upgradation of road infrastructures in the Tole, nor did they pay heed to the problems of the genereal public.

Moderating the interaction, Raju Dhungel, the president of ward no. 5 of NC Suryabinayak Municipal Committee said the problems of the Tole are our common problem regardless of which party we belong to. "We should raise our voices aloud and make them heard by the central leadership," said he.

Rameshwar Dhawaju, the district representative, Nishan Dhungel, the President of Nepali Congress Suryabinayak Municipal Committee, Raju Dhungel, the president of ward no. 5 of Suryabinayak Municipality, Nepali Congress Bhaktapur District Secretary Rudra Dhungana, Jivan Jung Khatri, the central member of Nepal Tarun Dal, youth leader Bhupal Basnet among others were present in the campaign.
