Nepal inflicted a 214-run mammoth defeat on Maldives in the ongoing ACC Women’s Premier Cup on Tuesday.
Maldives was bowled out for 13 runs in 13. 5 overs while the latter was chasing the 228-run target set by Nepal at the Bangi International Cricket Ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
With the win, Nepali National Women Cricket team has entered the quarter-finals of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup.
To restrict Maldives to a low 13-run score, Asmina Karmacharya took the highest four wickets followed by Pooja Mahato and Rubina Chhetri Belbase with three wickets each.
None of the Maldivian batters scored double-digit runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first against Maldives after winning the toss, Nepal notched up 227 runs losing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
After Rubina and Pooja shared a 166-run partnership, Nepal notched up a huge total in the last group stage match.
Rubina topped the score with 118 runs including 10 fours and five sixes while Pooja hit 59 not-out runs.
