Nepal set a 116-run target for Malaysia in the ongoing semifinals of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup underway in Malaysia on Friday.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Nepal notched up 115 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Skipper Indu Barma topped the score with 29 runs including two fours off 37 balls, followed by Dolly Bhatta with 25 runs. Similarly, Kabita Kunwar and Rubina Chhetry Belbase collected, 23 and 20 runs, respectively. The other batters could not reach double-digit runs.
On the bowling side, Mahirah Izzati Ismail took two wickets and Winifred Duraisingam grabbed one wicket for Malaysia.
Nepal entered the semifinals by defeating Kuwait by eight wickets in the quarter-finals held on Wednesday. If Nepal wins this match, it will qualify for the ACC Women's Asia Cup.
