Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka held a meeting with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in Baluwatar on Monday evening.

Deuba and Khadka reached Baluwatar to meet Prachanda at a time when the meeting of the incumbent and former office-bearers of the Nepali Congress was going on.

The meeting between the three leaders lasted for an hour, Prime Minister Prachanda's secretary Ramesh Malla told Nepalkhabar.

"The conservation between the three leaders lasted for an hour," said Malla.

According to sources, Prime Minister Prachanda is in favor of changing the cabinet immediately. Prachanda is under pressure to remove Physical Infrastructure Minister Prakash Jwala and Health Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet.

While Prachanda is ready to overhaul his party's ministers, Deuba has urged holding off until the Mahasamiti meeting.

Prime Minister Prachanda in the meeting expressed concerns that the further delay of the cabinet reshuffle would worsen public perception of the government.

Meanwhile, concerns are mounting within the Nepali Congress, with some members calling for an end to the alliance with the Maoist Center.

President Deuba and General Secretary Gagan Thapa could not agree on the document to be presented in the Masamiti meeting. Thapa has taken a stand in favor of rethinking the alliance, while Deuba has already voted against it in the recently held Mahasamiti meeting.

Congress office-bearers' meeting was held at the Deuba residence to strike a deal on the same issue today.
