Nepali Congress Member of Parliament Ramhari Khatiwada has drawn the attention of the government to bring home two Nepalis who are languishing in a jail in Dubai, UAE.
Speaking at the zero-hour of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he informed that Bhuwan, the son of Yam Bahadur Shrestha from Chisangugadhi-3, Okhaldhunga, and Pahalman Shrestha from Dhading, have been serving a prison term in the UAE for five years.
Khatiwada also informed the parliament that the local government arrested them seeking 5 million rupees in blood money after their friend Baburam Ale from Nawalparasi died when they took him to the hospital.
"They are languishing in Dubai jail for their failure to pay 5 million rupees in blood money for Baburam Ale, a friend from Nawalparasi, who died when they were taking him to the hospital," MP Khatiwada said.
He maintained that the government should take the initiative to bring them to Nepal by paying blood money. "The prime minister and foreign minister have to make arrangements for their repatriation," said Khatiwada.
Meanwhile, he drew the attention of the government to inform the House about the situation of Bipin Joshi kidnapped by Hamas, and call back the Nepalis home who are being killed in the Ukraine-Russia war.
