Speaker Devraj Ghimire has issued a ruling to the government urging the latter to answer the questions raised by the Members of Parliament in the meeting of the House of Representatives.
Opposition parties including CPN (UML) have been demanding resignation of three disputed ministers since February 18.
With the Speaker’s ruling, the HoR which was postponed for 15 minutes, has now resumed.
Lawmakers disrupted the meeting, shouting slogans, “Comply with the Ruling of the Speaker, Punish the Guilty MPs.”
Earlier, MP Gokul Baskota in the meeting demanded that the questions raised on the resignation of ministers and loan sharking be answered by the government.
“A question is being raised time and again in the meeting. But it has fallen on the deaf ears of the government,” said Baskota.
Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat was scheduled to present the Principles and Priorities of the Nepal Budget, 2024/25 in today’s meeting.
