Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that those charge-sheeted by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority and found guilty by the investigation committee must be stripped of their official positions and sent back home.

Speaking at the zero hour in the parliament meeting on Sunday, Thapa stated that there is a verbal war going on between the ruling and the opposition parties, calling for an end to it.

This verbal war has been going on since February 18, with opposition parties demanding the resignation of three sitting ministers. UML lawmakers disrupted the meeting shouting slogans on Monday, bringing it to a pause for 15 minutes.

Speaking at the zero hours after the HoR meeting resumed, Thapa floated a proposal that those found guilty and charge-sheeted by the anti-graft body should be stripped of their official positions.

“With this culture, the House won’t run, and the major issues will be sidelined. Weather they sit on the left or right side of the parliament, near or far, those charge-sheeted by the anti-graft body and those declared guilty by the probe Commission must be stripped of their official positions and sent back home.

Similarly, those who cheated cooperatives and held two to four citizenship cards should be investigated by sending back home.

“Those convicted of defrauding cooperatives and holding two to four citizenships should be investigated by sending them back home. We will welcome them with garlands when they come back acquitted,” said Thapa.
