Minister for Foreign Affairs Narayan Prakash Saud stressed the enhanced level of economic cooperation from the state partners to make the developmental transformation sustainable.
Addressing the 76th Anniversary Celebration of Nepal Council of World Affairs (NCWA) at Akama Hotel in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu on Thursday, Minister Saud said, “To make this milestone of developmental transformation sustainable, we need enhanced level of economic cooperation from our partners”.
Stating that economy has become the top constituent of a country’s national power and international stature in today’s world, Saud said the economic interest should be served through FDI, trade, development cooperation and mobilization of other resources as well as better connectivity, regionally and globally.
"In our external engagements, relations with our neighbors are always our priority. We seek to maintain friendly, harmonious and cooperative ties with the neighbors based on mutual trust and respect,” said Saud.
While Nepal is set to graduate from the status of Least Developed Country in 2026, the relations with major world powers and our valued development partners are also our priority, said Saud.
Stating that it was historically an entrepot between the vast territories on both sides of the Himalayas, Nepal wants to take advantage of the rapid pace and scale of economic prosperity and transformation taking place in the neighborhood, added Saud.
