CPN (UML) Vice Chairman Surendra Pandey has claimed that a new Council of Ministers will be formed including his party today.
"The government will change and a new cabinet will be formed today itself. A small cabinet will take an oath of office," he wrote on social media.
Pandey's statement has come at a time when news is being circulated that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who is unhappy with President Sher Bahadur Deuba, has reached an understanding to form a new alliance with UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Janata Samajbadi Party.
The meeting of the existing ruling alliance which was scheduled for 8 am today has also been canceled.
The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) and main opposition CPN (UML) have held secretariat-level meetings already. The RSP has also called a meeting.
