With the allocation of the ministerial portfolios among the coalition partners, the CPN (UML) has finalized the list of its ministers to participate in the new cabinet.
According to sources, Raghubir Mahaseth will lead the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport while Damadar Bhandari will take charge of the Ministry of Industry. Bhandari had become a minister for a short period in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
Similarly, Balaram Adhikari, Bhagwati Chaudhary, Jwala Kumari Sah, Rajendra Rai, Hari Upreti are becoming ministers. However, their ministerial portfolios are yet to be finalized.
All the other ministers except Adhikari and Mahaseth have been repeated.
UML’s Padam Giri was sworn-in as the minister without portfolio on Monday itself. Top UML leaders are holding a meeting to finalize the assignment of ministerial portfolios based on the would-be ministers’ expertise, currently, a UML source said.
