Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy on newly elected Foreign Affairs Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha.
Ambassador Srivastava reached Singha Durbar to visit Foreign Minister Shrestha on Thursday morning. During the meeting with Minister Shrestha, Srivastava congratulated him on his election to the post of Foreign Affairs Minister Shrestha and extended best wishes to him.
The two leaders discussed various topics of bilateral ties and mutual interests, said Ministry Spokesperson Amrit Bahadur Rai, adding, “DPM and Minister Shrestha and Indian Ambassador Srivastava dwelled on further strengthening the ties between the two countries and timely completion of development projects being run in Nepal with the assistance of India, among other topics.”
Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Singha Duabar, the officials from the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal were present during the meeting, aside from Srivastava and Shrestha.
Earlier, in the previous cabinet, Shresth, who is the senior Vice Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) was the Minister for Home Affairs.
