Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' said the Russian government has already been informed that the recruitment of Nepalis in the Russian army is illegal and that 'No Objection Certificate' is mandatory while going to Russia.
While answering the important issues raised by the MPs in the Parliament today, Prime Minister Prachanda made it clear that Nepali citizens should not be recruited into the Russian Army and diplomatic pressure should be exerted to repatriate those already recruited in the Russian Army.
Prime Minister Prachanda informed that the Nepal government is in constant communication with the officials of the concerned country regarding repatriation of the dead body of a Nepali citizen killed while in the Russian Army, providing compensation to the family of the deceased and the injured and repatriation of citizens held hostage by the Ukrainian Army.
“Recently, the Russian government has agreed to provide compensation and insurance money to the victims' families through the Department of Consular Services by depositing the compensation and insurance amount in the account of the Nepali Embassy,” Prime Minister Prachanda said. “‘No Objection Certificate’ has been made mandatory for citizens traveling to Russia for study, and other professional occupations."
