The gold price increased by Rs 2,600 to reach at Rs 127,800 per tola, setting a new record in the Nepali market today.
With the rise in value, the price of hallmark gold has reached Rs 127,800 per tola and that of tejabi Rs 127,200, according to the Federation of Gold and Silver Dealers Association (FENEGOSIDA).
The fine gold was Rs 125,200 and standard gold Rs 124,600 per tola yesterday.
Similarly, the price of silver has increased by Rs 35 per tola to reach at Rs 1,555.
The price of silver was Rs 1520 per tola yesterday.
This is the highest price of gold ever increased in the Nepali market. The yellow precious metal has touched a new height in the international market, too, news agencies reported.
According to the goldprice.org, the gold is being sold for $2,205 per ounce in the international market today.
It has increased by $177.87 in the last 30 days, $278.38 in the last 6 months, $233.92 in the last 1 year, $903.19 in the last 5 years, and $1786.04 in the last 20 years.
The gold price is expected to reach up to $2,300 in the next six months in the international market.
