Shree Airlines has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of two more 80-seat aircraft manufactured by De Havilland of Canada, formerly Bombardier.
Shree Airlines recently acquired these two aircraft previously operated by Horizon Air and Alaska Airlines, both based in the United States.
These aircraft boast powerful engines with 5,400 pounds of thrust (saft horsepower).
Shree Airlines' pilots skillfully landed their newly acquired aircraft at the Tribhuvan International Airport today, following a demanding 25-hour flight with three overnight stopovers.
The aircraft took off from Portland of Oregon State, flew to Duluth of Minnesota State, before arriving at Goose Bay Airport of Canada, then to Keflavík International Airport of Iceland, Munich of Germany, Cairo of Egypt, Dubai of the United Arab Emirates, arrived at Indore of India before landing at the TIA, the company said.
The company has stated that it will bring these aircraft into operations soon after fulfilling the procedures introduced by Nepal Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).
Shree Airlines Company had started flight services to various destinations in Nepal with 50-seat two CRJ200 aircraft and 70-seater two RJ700 aircraft since 2017.
In the initial period, the company had operated flight services to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi airports from the TIA including mountain flights.
The company added four more 80-seat aircraft Dash 8 Q400 manufactured in Canada to its fleet (two in 2019 and two others in 2022) and extended domestic flight serves to Pokhara, Surkhet, Janakpur and Simara.
