A Nepali migrant worker died in a road accident in New Zealand while he was heading to his workplace.
According to Ram Hari Pandey, the spokesperson for the NRNA New Zealand chapter, the deceased is 33-year-old Surendra Sarbariya of Shahidnagar Municipality, Dhanusha.
The body of Sarbariya is at the hospital, currently. Paper works required to repatriate the body are underway, said Pandey.
“It costs around NZD 18, 000 to send the body back to Nepal,” reads the press note released by Pandey, “The economic condition of the family of the deceased is very low. If the amount aforesaid is not collected, the boy cannot be sent back to Nepal.”
Meanwhile, Pandey has appealed to all the Nepali people living in New Zealand to extend help in fund raising.
Sarbariya is survived by his wife and children, a son and a daughter. They live in Dhanusha. He met with an accident while he was heading to his workplace from his residence, said Pandey.
Sarbariya had gone to New Zealand for an employment 15 months ago. He used to work in a dairy farm.
In order to raise funds for repatriating Sarbariya's body to Nepal, Pandey has publicly shared a bank account number: 12-3066-0148917-04.
