Chief Minister of Karnali Province Raj Kumar Sharma tendered his resignation to Province Chief Tilak Pariyar on Wednesday.

Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Raj Kumar Sharma, has resigned from his post.

Sharma announced his resignation while delivering a speech in the province assembly meeting on Wednesday.

Sharma will now tender his resignation to the Chief of Karnali Province, Tilak Pariyar.

Earlier, Sharma was making preparations to take the vote of confidence on Tuesday. He postponed the program for Wednesday after the post of the chief minister went into the fold of CPN (UML) following the power-sharing deal sealed among the four parties of the ruling coalition.

Sharma who was hell-bent on taking the vote of confidence against the direction of party chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was eventually forced to resign from his post.

He expressed his grievances over the direction of the party leadership saying that it was unfair while delivering his speech in the province assembly meeting.

Maoist Center leader Sharma’s resignation has paved the way for UML leader to become the next Chief Minister of Karnali Province.
