CPN (UML) Parliamentary Party Leader of Karnali Province Assembly, Yamlal Kandel, is going to submit a claim for the post of Chief Minister of Karnali Province today.
The chief minister of the province government, Rajkumar Sharma, on Wednesday tendered his resignation to the Chief of Karnali Province, Tilak Pariyar, paving the way for Kandel to become the next chief minister.
According to Article 168 (2) of the Constitution, Province Chief Pariyar has called on the Karnali Provincial Assembly member to stake a claim for the post of Chief Minister with the support of two or more parties represented in the Provincial Assembly.
UML Karnali Province Assembly Chief Whip Tekraj Pachhai informed that leader Kandel will lay claim to the post of Chief Minister with the support of the ruling party CPN (Maoist Center) as per the call of the province chief.
"With the support of the Maoist Center Karnali Province Assembly Parliamentary Party leader, we will submit the claim to the province chief," Kandel said.
