Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has pulled out of the Lumbini Province government after being denied two ministries as per the agreement.

JSP’s Bhandari Lal Ahir, who was appointed as the Minister for Agriculture and Land Management in the government led by Chief Minister Jokh Bahadur Mahara on April 18, resigned from his post today.

Chief Minister Mahara had agreed to give the Ministry of Urban Development and Tourism and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Management to the JSP.

The JSP quit the Mahara-led government after it was given only the Agriculture Ministry.

However, the JSP, which has only three lawmakers, has not withdrawn its support to the government.

The ruling alliance lacks majority without the JSP in the 83-member Lumbini Province Assembly.
