Ilam-2: Nembang: 10,003, Khadka: 6,944, Thegim: 5,591 out of 24,738 votes counted

Out of 69,287 votes cast in the by elections for a member to the House of Representatives in Ilam-2, 24,738 votes have been counted.

According to the latest vote count updates, CPN (UML)’s Suhang Nembang has continued widening the lead with 10,003 votes. His rival of Nepali Congress received 6,944 votes followed by independent candidate Dakendra Singh Thegin (pro-identity) with 5,591 votes. Rastriya Swatantra Party’s Milan Limbu has received 1,443 votes. A total of 19 candidates are contesting the elections in Ilam 2.

There are 115,889 voters in the Ilam-2. The voting was held in 149 polling centers, and 79 polling stations.

The turnout in by-poll held in Ilam constituency-2 for House of Representative (HoR) remained at 59.79 percent, according to the Office of the Chief Election Officer.  

The Office said that a total of 69,287 voters including 35,135 men, 34,150 women and two others cast their votes in the HoR by-election.

In the HoR elections held in November 2022, the voters' turnout was 57.44 percent in Ilam constituency 2.
