The Nepal Tourism Board has received the ‘Most Popular Cultural Tourism Destination Award’ at the Gwangzhou International Travel Fair (GITF) held in Guangzhou in China.
The PATA Nepal Chapter and other seven travel agencies and hotels took part in the GITF held from May 16 to 18. This is the first time Nepal took part in the GITF following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acting Nepali Consul General for Guangzhou, Saroj Bhattarai, attended the inaugural ceremony held in Guangzhou. Similarly, Kundan Sharma, an official at the NTB, shed light on the tourism prospects and its future in Nepal.

The NTB is hopeful that the GITF will help promote the tourism of Nepal since China is the major source of tourism market.
In the Fair, PATA Nepal Chapter has received ‘Overall Performance Award from China Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI) and Best Partner Award from GITF.
Similarly, Jugal Holidays clinched the ‘Gold Award for Product Innovation,’ informed Pradeep Gaire, an official at the NTB.
Earlier, Nepal had participated in the 31st edition of Arabian Travel Market (ATM-2024) organized at the Dubai World Trade Center.
