Gandaki CM Surendra Pandey secures trust vote

Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Surendra Pandey has secured the vote of confidence on Monday.

Chief Minister Pandey managed to secure the vote of confidence with the support of 31 lawmakers including 27 from Nepali Congress, two from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, and two lawmakers Phanindra Devkota and Deepak Manange (independent).

Lawmaker of Nepal Samajbadi Party, Devkota, who won the election with the election symbol of CPN (Maoist Center) had crossed the floor.  

Pandey managed to secure the vote of confidence after Devkota voted for him against the whip issued by the Maoist Center.

Twenty-eight lawmakers voted against the motion.

Opposition lawmakers including UML leader Khagaraj Adhikari shouted slogans after Devkota crossed the floor.

Similarly, independent lawmaker Manange also changed the camp. Earlier, he was in the opposition camp.
