Dipendra Singh Airee ranks sixth in all-rounder world's ranking

Nepali cricketer Dipendra Singh Airee has improved three spots in the newly revised ICC Men’s T20I all-rounder ranking.

Airee, who earlier ranked 9th, has climbed the sixth position according to the new ranking unveiled by the ICC on Wednesday, leaving behind Hardik Pandya of India, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali of England.  

Similarly, Nepal’s Kushal Malla’s ranking has slipped by one point. Malla has been relegated to 36th from 35th in the new ranking.

Captain Rohit Paudel has improved 11 points to climb 55th position from 66th. While Gulson Jha and Kushal Bhurtel ranked 68th and 70th, respectively, Karan KC is ranked 75th.

Australia’s Marcus Stoinis ranked the first followed by Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka and Sakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh in the new world’s ranking. Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi, previously holding the top spot, has tumbled down the rankings by three positions and now sits at fourth.

Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raja’s ranking dropped by one point to rank the fifth, according to the newly revised tranking. ICC revises the rankings of the cricketers based on the latest performance.

In the last group stage match against Bangladesh of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup held recently, Airee took two wickets giving away 22 runs in 3.3 overs and notched up 25 runs off 31 deliveries.

Earlier, in the third group stage match against South Africa, he grabbed three wickets giving away 21 runs in 4 overs.  

He collected only six runs in that match. Similarly, in the match against Netherlands, Airee was out for one run and took one wicket conceding six runs in two overs.  

Nepal’s match against Sri Lanka was canceled due to bad weather.
