Karan Pariyar wins 'Nepal Idol Season 5' title

Karan Pariyar from Bardia has won the title of singing reality show 'Nepal Idol Season 5'. He was declared the winner after defeating three competitors in the grand finale held on Saturday evening.

Pariyar bagged a cash prize of Rs 2.5 million along with a trophy.

Sachin Bishwakarma of Darjeeling was declared the second runner-up while Salome Gurung of Pokhara was the first runner-up. The first runner-up Gurung received a cash prize of Rs 1 million while the second runner-up Bishwakarma received a cash prize of Rs 500,000.

Similarly, Mohit Bhujel of Darjeeling was declared the third runner-up. He got a scooter as an award.

Earlier, Buddha Lama won the Nepal Idol title in the first season, Ravi Oad in the second season, Sajja Chaulagain in the third season, and Bhupendra Thapa Magar in the fourth season.

The show was adjudged by Nhyoo Bajracharya, Kaliprasad Baskota, and Indira Joshi and hosted by Rima Bishwakarma and Asif Shah.

The Season 5 audition began on January 6 and aired on March 7.

As many as 152 music enthusiasts were selected from across the country for Season 5.
