Chinese Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong has arrived on a three-day official visit to Nepal.
The head of the North-East Asia Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Krishna Prasad Dhakal, received Vice Minister Sun at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
He came to the Himalayan country to participate in the 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism, which is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal will attend the Consultation Mechanism on behalf of the Nepal government, leading the Nepali delegation which is comprised of senior officials from the different ministries.
Bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between Nepal and China will be discussed during the Sun’s Nepal visit.
Chinese Vice Minister will also pay courtesy calls on President Ram Chandra Pauel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the Foreign Ministry said.
