Medha Secondary School, a community school based at Tekhapukhu in Bhaktapur has continued its legacy of academic excellence with a 100% pass rate on the Secondary Education Exam (SEE).

According to the results unveiled by the National Examination Board (NEB) on Thursday, out of 115 students who appeared in the SEE exams this academic year, one student scored GPA 4, 77 obtained 3.61 to 3.99, while 33 students scored GPA 3.21 to 3.60.

Similarly, three students secured 2.81 to 3.20 while one student obtained GPA 2.41 to 2.80.

When asked about the factors behind such excellent results, Mr Shayam Hada, the Principal of Medha School, said it was the combined efforts done by three parties - students, teachers and parents.

“Medha Secondary School has been able to achieve excellent results this academic year, too, due to the combined efforts done by three parties – students, teachers and parents,” said Hada, “I would like to congratulate all the SEE graduates for their excellent results and expect the same hard work, determination and cooperation from all sides including teachers and parents to help maintain the legacy of the school in the future, too.”

The Office of the Controller of Examinations Class 10 under the NEB on June 27 announced the SEE results for the Academic Year 2080 BS. Only 47.86 percent of the students who participated in the examination got through the Iron Gate. According to the Board, 186 students scored GPA 4.

Medha School took a new lease of life after late Principal Gangadhar Hada took charge as the vice principal on February 17, 2004. Due to his constant dedication to the school, this school managed to top the charts of community schools in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) result in 2075 BS, eight years after he took charge as the head of the school.

Recognizing for his commendable contribution to the school, the government conferred Prabal Janasewa Shree Award, Shiksha Puraskar on Gangadhar as being the principal of Medha School. He had played an instrumental role in transforming an ordinary community school into the best school of the nation leaving behind all the private schools. This School had received a cash prize of Rs 300,000 along with a medal and a letter of appreciation for becoming the top government school in 2075 BS.

In the SEE exams of 2078 BS, out of 107 students, 20 examinees got through the Iron Gate with A+, 52 A, 20 B+, 10 B and 5 with C score from this school.
