A group of organizations and citizens have appealed to the Nepal government to stop sending Nepali people to Israel for foreign employment.
Issuing a press note on Monday, the organizations said, “We would like to jointly appeal to the government and the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security not to send Nepali people to warn-torn Israel that has been flouting all the norms of humanity and disrespecting the peace efforts made by the United Nations.”
Stating that 10 Nepali people were killed and one went missing in the Hamas attack in Israel on October 7, 2023, the group of organizations urged the government not to deprive them of their right to live with dignity.
The groups that appealed to the government are Nepal Trade Union Federation, Asmita Hamro Patrika, Tanka Prasad Memorial Academy Decolonial Solidarity Network Nepal, The Dialectical Society, Nepalese for Palestine, Palestine Solidarity Nepal Coordination Committee, Bampantha Patrika, Meter Byaj Tatha Thagi Biruddha Kisan Majdur Sangharsha Samiti, Shiksha Niti Tatha Abhyas Kendra, Hatemalo Collective.
