Nepali Congress has unveiled that CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma is becoming the next Prime Minister of Nepal in line with Article 76 (2) of the Constitution.

A meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee (CWEC) held in Budhanilkhantha on Wednesday morning took a decision to this effect.

“Given the situation that NC and UML have already decided to make KP Sharma Oli the next Prime Minister in line with 76 (2) of the Constitution, the meeting urges Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ to step down, paving the way for the formation of a new government,” NC said.

Similarly, the meeting also endorsed the power-sharing deal sealed between Deuab and Oli. Deuba and Oli at midnight on Monday reached  an agreement to form a government and amend the Constitution. UML will take nine ministries including the Prime Minister while NC will lead 10 ministries including the Home Ministry, according to the deal.

According to the agreement, Oli will lead the government in the first phase and then Deuba will take charge of the government until the next elections.
