Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has given the responsibility as acting general secretary to Deputy General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti.

Following the decision to suspend General Secretary Dr. Mukul Dhakal on Wednesday, Burlakoti was given the responsibility as acting general secretary, an RSP leader privy to the meeting told Nepalkhabar.

Similarly, Manish Jha has been assigned the responsibility of the acting spokesman.

The central committee meeting on Wednesday night suspended Dhakal for a week over disciplinary concerns on the recommendation of the party disciplinary commission.

The office-bearer said the party decided to suspend Dhakal for carrying out activities against the party discipline and going against the party.

The meeting of the disciplinary commission concluded thata Dhakal violated the party discipline on the ground that he refused to speak in the meeting and spoke against the party to the media outside the meeting.

Chief Minister Dhakal on Wednesday attended the meeting wearing a mask with black tape. The report prepared by him was discussed throughout the day in the RSP meeting.

Out of 52 central members who spoke in the meeting, 50 questioned the activities of General Secretary Dhakal.

The internal conflict of RSP came to the surface after Dhakal submitted the report after a one-month tour of the country.
