‘Nepal Festival 2024’ has concluded for the first time in Ken Whillans Square in Brampton City of Canada.

Over 5,000 Nepali people participated in the one-day festival organized by Laligurans Sports and Cultural Club on July 7.

Cultural Department Head GR Bhandari informed that the participants in the festival preferred Nepali music, Nepali costumes, handicrafts, and Nepali cuisine.

“We have been encouraged by the significant number of Nepali participants. The number of participants doubled than what we had expected. We will give continuity to such events in the next year, too. The participants felt as if they were in Nepal," said Bhandari.

Clad in their stunning cultural attire, members of the Newar, Gurung, Tamang, Sherpa, Tharu, and Madhesi communities enthralled audiences with traditional dances at a free event.

Singers Himal Sagar, Devika KC, and Mansing Khadka, along with artists from the Himalayan Voice Band, belted out their hit songs during the event.

Chaired by Krizal Adhikari, the president of the Laligurans Sports and Cultural Club, Nepali Ambassador to Canada, Bharat Raj Paudyal was invited as the chief guest of the event.
