Four new members have been inducted into the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) of the Federal Parliament.
The proposal to induct the new members into the parliamentary committee presented by Speaker Devraj Ghimire in the House of Representatives held on Tuesday was approved by the meeting.
According to which, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is also the former Prime Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka, Vice President of Nepali Congress, Rabi Lamichhane, President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), and Rajendra Kumar Rai, leader of CPN (UML), have been inducted as members into the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee.
The new members have been nominated in accordance with Rule 177 of the House of Representatives Rules, 2079 Speaker Ghimire said.
After Prachanda resigned as the Prime Minister, he was inducted as a member into the parliamentary committee. Likewise, Lamichhane, the parliamentary party leader of RSP, was previously in this committee. After becoming the Home Minister, he was automatically removed from the committee.
Earlier, Khadka and Rai were not in the committee since they were the part of the cabinet led by Prachanda.
