Newly elected Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya of Lumbini Province took the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday morning.
Province Chief Amik Cherchan administered Acharya the oath amidst a ceremony held at the Office of the Chief Minister a while ago.
After being sworn in as the Chief Minister, Acharya has expanded his cabinet. He appointed eight provincial lawmakers as ministers without portfolios.
According to the Office of the Province Chief, the appointed ministers without portfolios are Bhumishwar Dhakal, Dinesh Panthi, Bhad Shah Kurmi, Dhanendra Karki, Saroj Thapa, Prachanda Bikram Neupane, Khem Bahadur Saru and Sita Sharma.
Province Chief Amik Sherchan on Monday appointed Acharya as the Chief Minister of the Province after the latter staked a claim for the post with the support of 56 lawmakers of UML and NC.
He had been elected as the provincial lawmaker from Arghakhanchi 1 (1).
