Six individuals have filed applications for the post of chairman of the Film Development Board, Nepal.
According to Rajesh Kumar Thapa, undersecretary at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, who is also the member secretary of the Film Development Board, a total of six candidates filed their applications for the coveted post.
Film Director Dinesh DC, Actress Karishma Manandhar, Cultural Leader Rajesh Kumar Thapa, Producer and Board Member Arjun Kumar Dangol, Director Deepa Pandey Basnet and Board Member Prakash Bhattarai are vying for the post, according to Thapa.
“Six candidates have filed applications. One among them will become the chairman of the Film Development Board,” he said.
Issuing a notice on July 31, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had called for applications within 15 days.
The next stage of the selection process involves work plan presentations and interviews.
Then the recommendation committee will recommend the names of three candidates. One of them will be appointed as the Board chair.
Prior to this, actor and producer Bhuwan KC had become the chairman of the Film Development Board.
