A Nepali female student has been shot dead at Houston in the US State of Texas.
The deceased is 21-year-old Muna Pandey who originally hails from Bhojpur, an eastern hilly district of Nepal.
She was shot dead in her rented apartment on Monday evening.
Acting on a tip-off, when a team of Houston Police reached the incident site around 5 pm on Monday, Muna was found dead in her rented apartment. She had sustained several bullet injuries to her chest, according to the Houston Police.
According to Drona Gautam, the first vice president of the Nepalese Association of Houston, Pandey who had gone to America to pursue her bachelor’s degree had been enrolled in a nursing program at Houston Community College.
Pandey, who had previously lived with friends, had started staying alone in a rented apartment, recently.
Panday’s mother Anita has urged the police to track down the assailant, according to the local media outlets.
The Houston Police has been clueless about the assailant so far.
