According to Dilli Ram Pokharel, the joint spokesperson of the NRB, the 100-rupee note with the updated Nepal map will be issued within six months to a year.

“The process has been taken forward following the bidding process. The banknotes will be issued soon,” he said.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had issued a revised map of Nepal incorporating Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulekh in 2077 BS.

India has been unhappy with Nepal following the issuance of the newly revised map of Nepal. India publicly expressed discontent with the Nepal government’s decision to incorporate disputed areas into its updated map.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers earlier had decided to incorporate the revised map of Nepal in Nepali currencies after the new map of Nepal was issued by amending the Constitution.

The NRB has initiated the process forward by taking the permission of the Council of Ministers.
